About Camp Colorado

The American Diabetes Association’s Camp Colorado is held at beautiful Eagle Lake camp in the heart of Pike National Forest. Only 9 miles outside of Woodland Park, CO and a short distance from Colorado Springs, Camp Colorado is an idyllic summer camp setting. We encourage each camper to learn something new about diabetes management but never force education. At Camp Colorado we believe that each camper will take something away that is specific to that campers stage of development. And with three camp programs one is sure to excite even the pickiest camper!

What is camp all about - Empowered adventure. This is the rally cry of ADA Camp Colorado. We provide one ADA-trained diabetes counselor for every four campers and then add an additional program counselor just to ensure a camptastically good time! Camp Colorado is a safe, non-intimidating place to expand your knowledge of diabetes while making new friends and creating experiences you'll be telling other people about for years to come.

We encourage each camper to learn something new about diabetes management but never force education. At Camp Colorado we believe that you will take something away that is specific to your own stage of development. Meet new friends, have a blast and hopefully learn something special about yourself along the way. This is what Camp Colorado is all about!

REZ Camp

Rez camp is what most folks think of when summer camp is mentioned. Archery, canoeing, riflery, swimming, crafts, camp Olympics and capture the flag are familiar activities on the program agenda. Some new ones you might not have heard of before include the flight simulator (AKA “Vomitron”), the “blob” aqua jump and the zipline! Rez camp is open to all campers age 8-17
Camp Dates: 6/28/2009 – 7/3/2009

Equestrian Camp
Does your daughter love horses? If so, then this is the camp for her! Equestrian camp combines the fun of trail riding with the skill required for dressage, tack care, jumping, and horsemanship. CHA certified instructors work with campers throughout the week. The campers are also able to do many of the activities available to “rez” campers and conclude their week with their own horse show!
Open to girls age 12-17. (limited to 12 spaces)

Teen Challenge Camp
Looking for a little more adventure from your camp experience? Then teen Challenge camp is for you! Created especially with teens in mind! Camp activities are designed to promote leadership and team building with the intent of encouraging teens towards becoming mentors. Common activities include rock climbing, rappelling, bouldering, mountain biking, white water rafting, a ropes course, and more!
Open to teens age 14-17 (limited to 24 spaces)
